How to reach us

The Building physics Section has two locations: the main building is in Kasteelpark Arenberg 40; the building acoustics group is at the campus in Celestijnenlaan 200.

by public transport

to main building

• Take the train to Leuven (Louvain).
• The bus station of Leuven is located next to the railwaystation. Take bus number 2 'Campus' in the direction of Heverlee. Detailed timetables can be found on the website of De Lijn.
• Get off at the bus stop called 'Kantineplein'.
• Walk along the left drive way towards the Arenberg castle.
• The second building on your left hand side is the Department of Civil Engineering. The Building Physics Section is on the 4th floor.Get off at the bus stop called 'Kantineplein'. to building acoustics

• Get of the same bus number 2 at the stop called 'Campus' (terminus). You are now at your address Celestijnenlaan 200. Please walk to building D (200 m). The acoustics building is in front of the building D. Our offices are situated in the main six floor building D on the second floor. Secretariat is in room 02.69 (telephone: mrs. Gonda Verbruggen +3216327131).

by car (coming from E40 Brussels or Liège/Luik)

to main building

• Take the motorway E40 Brussels - Liège.
• Leave the E40 at the exit to highway E314 with directions Leuven - Genk - Hasselt.
• Keep to the right, exit highway E314 (direction Genk - Hasselt - Aken) and follow the signs 'Leuven'.
• Turn right at the third set of traffic lights (direction Campus Arenberg/Heverlee-Centrum, along Celestijnenlaan).
• You are now in the Celestijnenlaan. Follow this road until crossing a small bridge over the river 'Dijle'. Cross the bridge and turn left immediatley onto a small lane. The sign on the lane indicates 'Campus Arenberg'. (You arrive at this bridge is shortly after passing the main campus on your right.) Turn right after approximately 50m. Central dispatch will authorise your access to the parking as a visitor.
• The first building on your right hand side is the Department of Civil Engineering. The Laboratory of Building Physics occupies the 4th floor of this building.

to building acoustics

• Take the motorway E40 Brussels - Liège.
• Leave the E40 at the exit to highway E314 with directions Leuven - Genk - Hasselt.
• Keep to the right, exit highway E314 (direction Genk - Hasselt - Aken) and follow the signs 'Leuven'.
• Turn right at the third set of traffic lights (direction Campus Arenberg/Heverlee-Centrum, along Celestijnenlaan).
• Turn right at the next crossing in the direction of the university campus.
• Follow the way around the campus following the direction 'Centrale Parking' which is the car parking lot in front of building D.
• The acoustics building is also in front of building D . Our offices are situated in the main six floor building D on the second floor. Secretariat in room 02.69 (telephone: mrs. Gonda Verbruggen +3216327131).

by plane

• After landing, take the train to Leuven in the airport station on the basement level.
• At the station, either follow the public transport description (see above) or take a taxi to Kantineplein/Campus in Heverlee. This will cost approximately € 10.
• A taxi-ride directly from the airport to Leuven will be charged approximately € 65.
